A person taking a selfie smiles next to a library staff member seated behind a service desk in a library. Above the desk, a wall displays a quote reading, "It is not the job of writers to lift our spirits. Books simply do what they do."

This is part of my #100Branches project, in which my goal is to visit all 100 branches of the Toronto Public Library (as well as any other library I can find). Read my About page or check My Library Project on my website.

I had a lovely visit at the Mount Pleasant branch of the Toronto Public Library! The librarian behind the front desk was super-friendly, and gave me TWO stamps instead of just one! 😄

An open notebook on a dark surface features blue ink stamps of the Toronto Public Library and "Mount Pleasant" branch, along with handwritten notes and a small heart doodle.

I also loved the quote along the wall: "It is not the job of writers to lift our spirits. Books simply do what they do." From A Map to the Door of No Return by Dionne Brand.

Inside a library with white walls and a blue accent section, a large wall features a white quote reading, "It is not the job of writers to lift our spirits. Books simply do what they do," above bookshelves displaying various book covers.
